Hehe, see, I really liked Sehnsucht and Herzeleid, but I think that Mutter is their best album just because. ^^ I like the way it sounds kinda like they've matured (which they have) over the years. But then none of their music is bad, ne? ;=) And who is Bittorrent? I've never heard of them.

I love that damn song. Yeah. Hail Bram Cohen!! Here's an interesting factoid: Bittorrent file transfers account for a third of all web traffic worldwide. A third! That's freaking nuts!

It's just a P2P client, which, for the most part, means users download from one another off their PCs instead of a server. Servers, by the way, are special computers where websites and their content are stored. You download, or "leech", bits of files from other users and at the same time upload what you have to others who need what you've got. It's a rather efficient system for large file transfers.

The problem with this system is that you can get "stuck" if there's no one uploading, or "seeding", the parts you need, but that doesn't happen too often with popular files. See here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bittorrent) for more info.

They're just special because they offer more storage and more reliable processing capabilities. So if computers were students, they'd probably be gifted.

BTW, I think the RIAA may have caught on to Bittorrent. I'm hoping they don't do to it what they did to Napster, but I doubt they'll be able to attack something that's so disseminated. Muahahaha.

Well, Bittorrent requires the use of servers called trackers (not to be confused with the sites that are also called trackers, list the number of seeders and leechers, and allow download of torrent files) that keep track of seeders and leechers and tell the individual instances of Bittorrent where to get and send bits of data from and to. If they shut all of these down (pretty difficult task considering how many trackers are foreign), BT is pretty much done. Some torrent files are hard enough to find as it is. :/

The RIAA is pretty powerful and they've raised a big stink about P2P programs before. The MPAA also has a bone to pick with BT, what with the popularity of pirated movie downloads. Those two together spell serious trouble for BT.
