I checked back in the archives for aaages, and I've seen some screenshots of this but no mention of it being on youtube.
The Sum of Us is a 1994 Australian movie. As I'm sure you know, early 90s was still very 'revolutionary' time for having a show/movie with gay characters shown positively, in mainstream stuff. So that's partially why this movie is considered 'good'.
It's a Russell Crowe movie. I do not like Russell, but he was really good in this.
It's a movie about a father and son and their father/son relationship. The father is a widower, the son is gay. The father knows about it, (he caught him and a boyfriend when the son was about 14 years old) and is fine with it. (they also both do monologues that other characters can't hear)
It's a generally 'nice' movie. Happy and sad... also interesting to watch as a historical thing, like, how much of a stir the movie caused, what they chose to portray, etc. And yes, there's some boytouching in it lol. It's not really a romance though. Which is good because it was showing that there's more to a gay guy than just sex and men. :)

And, someone has put the whole thing up on youtube.
