i hear ya, i really do. i don't care much for tv, either, and especially since this is a photo community, i don't give a if someone saw something they liked on tv that some how would pertain to this community in some way. but i still get a bit irate when someone comes into a large group of people and expects them to cater to their wants (and no, i'm not just referring to stuff on the internet. you should know the people i go to school with, dear god). can ya dig?

I'm sorry that you didn't see it, but those who did have every right to discuss it here. This IS a boy touching community. The rules do not state that every post has to come with photos. And you are not a mod, so you have no right to ask people not to post things here.

I didn't say there was a rule against it, I asked if you'd stop doing it. I have every right to ask people not to do things under certain laws; I just have neither the means nor the desire to enforce it.

It's not hard to find pictures of the people some of you like to discuss. All I'm asking is that you put a little thought into entries this many people see. Is that difficult to understand?

While I understand your request, I find it laughable that you would expect the hundreds of members of this community to comply and change the way they post when you could simply turn your television on and, in this particular case, catch one of the thousand repeats MTV will broadcast this week of the movie awards.

Did you keep in consideration the people who DO watch TV? They could use the same argument to as to why people SHOULD mention it. It's not fair to censor for one person who chooses not to watch TV.

No, all I'm asking is that (in your analogy) you provide either a picture of what's so exciting or a link to enable those of us who don't get Showtime to have a clue what you're talking about. Or at the very least make your story longer than three sentences, two of which are "mmm."

I never said don't talk about it. I just asked if you could provide some basic information about what you're talking about. Example: I have no clue who Steve-O or Bam are. But I'm certain they have webpages somewhere. If you want to squee about Steve-O and Bam, is it asking too much to provide a link to those webpages? Or at the very least mention their last names so I can IMDB them?

I'm sorry you don't watch a lot of tv, but that post meant that I actually watched the boytouching award, and I wouldn't have if not for the post. Also prefacing things with "I don't mean to be rude" - is pretty much inherently rude. (What do you mean there? I don't mean to be rude, but if I apologize beforehand it's okay? Nope.) Also, if it's on MTV? That means that it'll be replayed constantly for the next three weeks, so there's no such thing as "just missed it."

So while I understand your complaint, I think you can probably get over one post that doesn't immediately relate to you. If not, sorry.

I actually ended up spending a lot of time hunting down a picture of it because of that post. I'm not complaining about any one post in particular, but about the recent sleugh of posts utterly devoid of actual content. As for the "I don't mean to be rude" comment, I don't suppose it ever occured to you that it's supposed to mean "this is going to sound like an insult but I don't actually mean it as one."

I have no problem with a few empty posts. It's just when they begin to make up 2/3 of the community that you have to ask how much spam is too much.

well, if you couldn't find one, why would it be any easier for them? you're coming in here and asking people to keep their mouths shut about something they've seen and got excited about and obviously want to share because they can't give you 100% satisfaction, and frankly that's not fair. i don't care for the posts about things on tv, but others do. if you're going to matter in this community, so are they. the world doesn't revolve around you, ya know.

And I'm going to have to agree with you... there's nothing more pointless (in my opinion) than a post saying, "Did anyone else see BlahBlahBlah? There were boys! They touched! So... this must be relevant in some way..." I mean, yeah, people are free to say what will, I suppose... but in the interest of etiquette, some of us are free to suggest that we would appreciate an accompanied visual reference or even a link of some sort so that we know what's being talked about...

hmm.. watching the mtv movie awards, I noticed how slashy and cute justin and sean were being. I mean, I don't exactly like justin timberlake but he's a pretty funny guy and they were so cute together. ha. I loved it.

also, i don't know about anyone else, but I like just HEARING about boy touching that happens on tv and stuff, it makes me giggle. i don't always need to see it, just knowing it happened is cool too. ha I'm a dork but whatever.
