I apologize if this is a repost, but I felt like drawing and went searching for some black-white photos.
What I found was this lovely boy:

Apparently, it's the cover of Germaine Greer's The beautiful boy
and I'm thinking about buying it.
But it seems to be quite controversial with all the naked young boys [just how young are they exactly? I'm a little bit freaked out by the interviews the author has done, she's constantly talking about sperm that ‘runs like tap water’ D:]
And I can't seem to find any examples besides the cover.
Can somebody help me out?
& now some really beautiful photographs:
[1-12 were taken by Jack Slomovits]

demiana_kassio recognized the cover boy as Björn Andrésen, who played Tadzio in 'Death in Venice'

Date: 2007-04-10 08:32 pm (UTC)And after doing some googling, I found out that I was indeed right. The coverboy is Björn Andrésen, so the photo was probably taken around the beginning of the 1970s.
Just for some random info on my part.

Date: 2007-04-11 01:16 am (UTC)Greer did ask the photographer (who obviously held the copyright) but in this sort of situation it is seen as bad faith to use an image of a person where the copyright is held by a different individual without also asking the subjects permission.
Andrésen said if he was asked he would have said no.

Date: 2007-04-11 07:33 am (UTC)I am sorry to report that Germaine Greer has turned into a total ranting lunatic in her old age, and will say/do anything at all to get a reaction (in another recent book she declares that Western teenagers who choose to get piercings are victims of abuse, but defends the genital mutilation of female infants.
