Peter Jackson and Elijah Wood...

From the Golden Globes. I thought it was lovely.

How adorable...

i wish i could be like peter jackson and never have to brush my hair. They're both lovable in their own way really, peter looks like your random wierd happy uncle guy who always ends up dancing around at family reunions after only one drink. xD

I kind of hate Peter Jackson for what he did to Christopher Lee. I mean, Christopher Lee once said that Peter Jackson should've won an Oscar for best direction... He was nothing but complimentary. And then he cut him out of the film? Why? I don't care if it's going to be in the extended edition DVD, it's horseshit. And yes, I am totally buying the extended edition DVD. Sigh.

'Lij is so cute.

Hmm...

I'm sure PJ didn't do that because of something personal. I mean it wasn't meant to be *against* Christopher Lee. It's all because of the flow of the film. It wouldn't have worked otherwise. It wouldn't have fitted into 3 hours. (and a half) and it's all very complicated.
Don't get me wrong, any change made to the books pains me awfully, but we have to accept that movie and book are totally different, and no one (except people like me probably) would want to watch a film that exactly follows the books. It wouldn't be possible with time as well. It's all very complicated ... I think PJ and co did a very good job and the Globe is well earned.
Cheers!

If Chris Lee is nothing else, he's a PROFESSIONAL ACTOR who understands the necessity of editing for cleaner storytelling. I mean -- geez, the movie's ALREADY three and a half hours long! Your average audience today doesn't have that long of an attention span (plus they don't offer intermissions). After the two-hour mark they start squirming.

The extended versions are great because they WILL have more, for those of us who ARE devout fans and could sit through every second of all three extended versions without batting an eye. ;) So Chris' performance WILL be seen in its entirity, and he's still getting paid handsomely for it.

Also, Chris is a MAJOR Tolkien fan, and he was VERY pleased to be a part of this venture. He was the on-set expert, and people respected him for his knowledge (and the fact that he once MET J.R.R.!). If he wasn't happy with the transfer of book to film, he would've said so. He's always spoken his mind.

So don't worry about him. The story is about the Ring and Frodo; he was but one of many pieces on the board.

-shrug- I've been three times at three different theaters and never once had an intermission. Actually, I've never had an intermission at any movie.

*pets Lij* Aww, you're so cute. Even if you are giving PJ a strange, far-too-intense, kind of take-me-now look. O_o;
