I am going to recommend a movie.
Despite the fact this comes on the tail of comments about how there aren't (m)any happy gay movies (see the post of pictures from
Get Real), I am going to recommend an incredibly sad one.
I caught
Lilies one night on the CBC. I adored it. The movie is very beautiful, but very sad. It is one of a few films, like
Farewell My Concubine, that can make me cry just by contemplating the story.
Both stories are tragic... but even still, the beauty in both is not something you should miss because you are looking for a happy film. (For the record, Farewell My Concubine is also a love story involving two men... but not completely mutual)
I once
posted about how the sadness in these films is cumulative, for me, on future viewings of the film... shortly after the death by suicide of one of the lead characters from Farewell My Concubine.

You may find some pictures of Simon and Vallier
here, taken from the film scene in which the two reenact the martyrdom of Saint Sebastian in a play.

Here is PlanetOut
mentioning how the film garnered 14 Genie Award nominations the year it was released. (The Genies are the equivalent to the Oscars, in Canada) While it apparently lost out to David Cronenberg's "Crash" on most accounts, it did get Best Film and three others.
Reviews:
The Austin Chronicle,
The San Francisco Chronicle,
The Phoenix New Times (not quite flattering),
The New York Times (pretty much insulting).

I have found Lilies in Blockbuster, Rogers and Jumbo video stores, for those who have them. You might find them in the foreign section. Even if you are in Canada. *kicks a few corporations*
