It's just a P2P client, which, for the most part, means users download from one another off their PCs instead of a server. Servers, by the way, are special computers where websites and their content are stored. You download, or "leech", bits of files from other users and at the same time upload what you have to others who need what you've got. It's a rather efficient system for large file transfers.
