i'm somewhat surprised someone hasn't already posted something from showtime's campy costume drama
the tudors.
other than being mostly cheese and filled with historical inaccuracies -- there is one redeeming characteristic.
the wildly random romance between thomas tallis and sir william compton.
screencaps are pretty big
scene 1

there's thomas tallis, unwittingly composing music while the two ladies of the court in the background scheme

they ask if he wants to return to the bedroom that they both share

tallis refuses, saying he wants to finish what he is working on

along comes sir william compton, played by kris holden-reid

who catches thomas looking fondly after the girls

and the musician returns to his work, curiosity piqued for being noticed
scene 2

tallis doing the music thing again

compton doing the spying thing again

compton compliments tallis by saying that even orpheus would be jealous of his talent

tallis spies on compton after he leaves

disappointed 'cause his soon-to-be lover is schmoozing with the ladies
scene 3

tallis is walking in some sort of catacomb or underground passage way and meets compton who was following him

compton: "why do you deny me?"
tallis: "you have a wife."

compton: "so?"

tallis: "you are a lord - what am i?"

compton: "a genius." oh no. the writers of this show are genius.

scene 4

despite all the gratuitous heterosexual sex on the show, we get this tame shot of the tallis/compton afterglow. precious.
scene 5

tallis at compton's estate in warwickshire

compton utters the 3 words every boy wants to hear: "wash your hair." uh. wait. he actually says: "i love you."

tallis: "what about your wife?"
compton: "you know i believe love is not bound by doctrine."

tallis tells compton that upon wolsey's request, he must leave for france to accompany the cardinal

compton is sad but realizes that tallis is under obligation
although i haven't watched episode 7 yet, i'm hearing through the grapevine that 'ol tallis/compton is not gonna last much longer.
