My morning paper gave me the loveliest surprise for breakfast today - apparently, Austria is finally going to legalize same-sex unions. Yay! It's probably not going to happen as soon as I'd like, but it is going to happen at last. Anyway, in order to celebrateillustrate this, they had this fantastic picture:

I love how genuinely happy they look.

From towleroad.com:
In June, we heard news that two Spanish Air Force Privates were to be the first same-sex members of Spain's military to be married. Well, the ceremony happened on Friday in front of 100 people in Seville and it looks like it was a major celebration. It also looks as if the two soldiers couldn't keep their lips off of one another. Bravo to that!

Bahahahaha. And of course everyone in this community already knew. So yay us for being right! XD

EDIT: I just had to share this, even though it's off-topic, because I am so very excited. Brian O'Halloran (Dante in the Clerks movies) is on the radio in Delaware right now. He posted on the View Askew message board (which I post on) about his appearance, and put up a number to call in. Well, I worked up some courage and called in, and I got to speak to him (and they played it on the air a few minutes later)!!! More importantly, I represented our community by telling Brian that, although I thought he had great chemistry with Rosario Dawson, he had the best chemistry with Jeff Anderson (Randal). To which Brian replied:

"Yeah, we did get a little Brokeback Mountain-y there."

SQUEE! XD

Okay I'm done spazzing. If you wanna know more my AIM name is in my userinfo.

"On June 19th 2006 I married my boyfriend of two years, Richard, in a Civil Partnership ceremony in London.

I can honestly say it was the happiest day of my life."

--Darren Hayes, in an announcement on his website

I don't have any BT pictures, I just thought this was incredibly sweet and exciting news. (I only wish this was possible in the U.S.)

The rest of the announcement, which I think is well worth reading, can be found on DH's official website, DarrenHayes.com.

Argh!!

Oh, my god.

I was just on Concerned Women for America's site and... grah! These people are so completely against homosexuals and then have the nerve to whine about intolerance against Christians. There's this part of their site called "Religious Liberties" which really should be renamed "Christian Liberties" or something to make the name truthful. :P They don't seem to care about other religions like Judaism or Islam or Buddhism.

Then there's this article on their site about this girl who, on a day her school set aside to teach tolerance, wanted to get up and make a speech about how homosexuality is "wrong." How much more intolerant can one get than to shut their ears to and declare the other side wrong? Is it really right to denounce something as "wrong" based on beliefs that others don't necessarily share with one? I think the school was right for not wanting her to give her speech. I'll link to the article if anyone wants to read it. CWA have a lot more where that one came from. >__>

I'm sorry for all the negativity in this post; this community is really fun for the most part, but I thought this was relevant and I just had to get this off my chest. T__T

Okay, on a lighter and more frivolous note, I want to see a movie with Joaquin Phoenix and Jude Law in it. I don't think they'd look good as a couple or anything (*falls off her chair at the notion XDD*), really, but any bit of boytouching would be much, much appreciated, ~*kthx BaI!!!1*~ XDD

Hey people. I heard a rumor that Stephen Morrissey of The Smiths and Robert Smith of The Cure were lovers. I've tried searching around but haven't found anything. Can anyone tell me if this information is valid? If so, do you have any delicious proof that you could show me? Thanks.

Here's some pictures of random boy loving for you guys.

Did anyone see the footage of the couples getting married in San Francisco? Wow. I forgot that weddings make me sappy. ^^

If anyone can get screen caps from that, I'd greatly appreciate it! I saw it on ABC's Good Morning, America, and I don't know if any other stations said anything about it. (And the interview with the mayor of San Francisco was interesting, too!)
